How does the disease progress?

The symptoms of Parkinson's usually begin slowly, and they develop gradually over time. Often there is no order or set pattern of how it will deteriorate.

It is important to remember Parkinson’s is a very individual condition and often no two people are the same and often even their treatments are not the same. Therefore you cannot compare your symptoms or how the condition will progress ,to other people on the whole.

.The symptoms may take years to progress to a point where they cause major problems and when they do, many of these symptoms can be treated.

There have been many advances in treatments now offering a much better quality of life than was possible a few years ago. This trend is likely to continue.
