The “Towards an understanding of Parkinson’s Disease Workshop”, may be for you.
This workshop is run by Vicky Queen. Parkinson’s Disease Nurse Specialist and she is aiming to run at least two of them a year, although if you work in a residential/nursing home it may be worth asking Vicky if she could do a workshop for you and your colleagues at your place of work.

Towards an Understanding of Parkinson’s Disease Workshop/Seminar
Aims of this workshop:
· To begin to understand what Parkinson’s disease is.
· To understand how Parkinson’s disease affects individuals and their families.
· To have a greater understanding of the needs of people with Parkinson’s disease.
· To understand some of the symptoms and problems that can occur as a result of Parkinson’s disease.
· To know more about resources available to help and support you in caring for people with Parkinson’s disease.

This is a newly created meeting, supported by this website to ensure services in
The meeting will be attended by professionals working in the trust such as physiotherapists, occupational therapists and nurses along with people with Parkinson’s disease and their family members. The meeting will discuss how helpful interventions are such as physiotherapy at home, the community Parkinson’s clinics, etc….
